چکیده

Distinction between non-invasive and invasive thymomas is almost impossible by histologic examination alone, because the morphology of invasive thymoma does not significantly differ from that of non-invasive thymoma [1,2]. However, tumor invasiveness is regarded as the most important factor affecting survival in thymoma [3]. In the present study, we examined the expression of some cancer-related proteins in thymoma by immunohistochemistry to determine whether the expression of these proteins is different between non-invasive and invasive thymomas.

The Effect of Interval Training on the Expression of Tumor Suppressor Gene, Systemic Inflammation, and Tumor Volume in Breast Cancer–Bearing BALB/c Mice

Introduction: E-cadherin is expressed in most normal epithelial tissues. Loss of E-cadherin can cause dedifferentiation and invasiveness in human carcinomas, leading E-cadherin to be classified as a tumor suppressor. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of interval training on the expression of tumor suppressor gene E-cadherin in breast cancer-bearing BALB/c mice. Meth...

Evaluation of PDL-1 Protein Expression in Tumor Tissues of Patients with Gasteric Cancer

Background and Objective: Nowadays, it has been proven that the immune system plays a major role in the occurrence or treatment of some cancers. The PDL-1 proteins are among the components of the immune system, which are expressed in different body cells, including B cells and T cells. In this regard, the present study was conducted to determine the frequency of PDL-1 protein expression and its...

The Relationship between the Expression of Small Heat-Shock Proteins and Suppression of OCT4B1

Background: OCT4B1, a variant of OCT4, is expressed in both cancer cells and tissues. This variant has a main role in the regulation of both apoptotic and stress (heat-shock proteins) pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of OCT4B1 silencing on the expression of small heat-shock proteins (sHSPs)in three human tumor cell lines. Methods:...

E-Cadherin in Relation with the Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen of the Bilharzia Associ-ated and Non-Associated Urinary Bladder Carcinoma

Background: E-cadherin is a trans-membrane glycoprotein that plays a critical role in many aspects of cell adhesion as well as establishment and maintenance of epithelial cell polarity. Loss of the adhesive function of E-cadherin seems to promote invasive and metastatic properties of neoplastic cells. Objectives: The present study is a retrospective study aiming to evaluate the loss of E-cadher...
